Jenin Refugee Camp, in the northern occupied West Bank, once housed over 23,000 refugees in less than half a square kilometre. Since October 7, 2023, intensified Israeli military operations brought raids, airstrikes and bulldozers while families faced blackouts, water shortages, and constant violence. On January 21, 2025, Israel launched Operation Iron Wall, forcibly displacing all the residents while homes, shops and schools were destroyed or burned. Since then, the army controls the camp allowing only rare returns to retrieve belongings before demolition.
