Stories in Afghanistan all resemble one another, marked by the awareness that a happy ending will rarely, if ever, be written. Universal tragedies, yet here hope is not for everyone. Her story is that of many: lives suspended in the dim light of their homes, where even imagining a future becomes impossible.
