Bangladesh witnessed a historic uprising after 15 years of authoritarian rule. What began as a peaceful student protest against a discriminatory quota system quickly escalated into a nationwide movement demanding democracy and justice. The state responded with extreme violence, killing over 1,500 people and injuring thousands. Despite internet shutdowns and curfews, citizens took to the streets. On August 5, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled the country to India, marking the fall of the regime. This project documents the courage, anger, and resilience of a generation fighting for freedom.
