Saro is 14, Yazidi, born and raised in Germany until his family was deported to Armenia. This series shows the new environment he now lives in: sheep fields near Mount Ararat, a bare room in an abandoned Soviet building, and the daily routines of a life abruptly displaced. Against the Yazidis’ long history of persecution and migration, including the genocide committed by ISIS in northern Iraq in 2014, this series follows a child caught between belonging and removal.
