Shadowed Hallways: U.S. Immigration Court, N.Y.C.

In July of 2025, I began photographing the targeted detainments at U.S. Immigration Court at 26 Federal Plaza in N.Y.C. to document the Trump administration’s aggressive deportation policies. While working, I focused on capturing not only the detainments but also the seemingly quieter moments; the photographs in my series capture the tense, fearful environment that men, women, and children must endure while attending required appointments. Although federal agents patrolled the starkly lit hallways, the media witnessed countless moments of unspoken courage by individuals and families.
