An elderly Japanese man was sketching in a botanical garden. His focused expression made me wonder how long he had been pursuing this hobby. The moment I pressed the shutter, he heard the sound, smiled at me, and then returned to his sketch. To me, this encounter represents the profound spiritual connection between a photographer and their subject. Although I do not know his name or how to reach him—and though we never exchanged a single word—I still carry the wish to one day give him this photo.
