Almost Adrift is a photographic diary of journeys where I embarked in full but didn't decide the route nor the purpose. Where I was carried by a stream I had no control of. In this case a work trip to Algeria, Cameroon, Angola and Equatorial Guinea. This unique condition unveiled for me an alternative way to do photojournalism. One that tries to avoid setting out with the preconceptions and agenda. The tendency to impose one's own view on reality - a problem I and much of contemporary photography often suffers from. Almost Adrift is a narrative written by chance and photographed by me.
