In Argentina, tango is more than a dance: it is memory, identity, and a language of the body. At Ramos Mejía Hospital, a public hospital in Buenos Aires, tango is part of therapy for patients living with Parkinson’s disease. Once a week, a group gathers to reclaim movement: balance, coordination, and confidence. Through the embrace and rhythm of tango, they confront stiffness and instability. Physical therapy becomes a space of connection, dignity, and emotional relief. These sessions show how dance can function as both art and medicine.
