This is the story of Mary, born on May 2, 1992, in a suburb of Lagos, Nigeria. Her grandmother named her Tinuola, which means “full of wealth” in the Yoruba language. After a journey of over 2,500 miles, she arrived in Sicily in October 2014, then moved to Florence and in 2017 near Turin, hosted by a small NGO supporting women victims of human trafficking. In 2019, she left the project and began a new chapter in her life, marked by mistakes, steps forward, passions, pain, and humiliations. A long bureaucratic path towards legal status in Italy in search of a normal life.
