Sarachui is a small Kogi settlement in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, César department, Colombia. The settlement is located a 3 hours trek from the village of Guatapuri in the mountains. The Kogi inhabit a collection of villages known as Kuibolos, which feature circular huts constructed from stone, mud, and palm leaves.Kogi are descendants of the Tairona civilization, which flourished before the Spanish conquest. The Tairona were an advanced society known for building numerous stone structures and pathways throughout. Colombia, September 2025.
