Armenian Carpets: Weaving Past and Future

  • Director
    Ezio Gianni Murzi

This is a story about the tradition of carpet weaving as a link between past and future. Armenian carpets provide continuity and comfort both spiritually and materially. Carpets are parts and parcels of Armenian national identity. Carpets form the home emotional center. They serve as portable homeland for the diaspora. Carpets are condensed, everyday embodiments of Armenian history, faith, geography, and family memory—one of the clearest material expressions of what it means to be Armenian.
