Debajo del barro (Under the Mud) was born in the wake of the DANA storm that devastated Valencia on October 29, 2024. Thousands of migrants, many of them undocumented, were left homeless and without assistance. In the absence of institutional support, the Mobile Unit for Migrant Assistance emerged: from urgent activism to a structured project. In one year, it has assisted more than 200 people, accompanied 90 administrative regularization cases, and managed direct financial aid. This project documents how migrant self-organization builds rights where the state leaves gaps.
