Yes. A submission may be entered into more than one category, and multiple entries are welcome. This can increase visibility and the chances of recognition.
Most upload errors are due to incorrect file type or size. Please double-check that your files are JPG, under 4 MB, and correctly named. If problems persist, try refreshing the upload page or contact our support team at support@photojournalismprize.com.
AI-generated images are not eligible for the Photojournalism Prize. We understand that most modern cameras and software use some level of automated or AI-assisted processing, and these unavoidable, in-camera or routine technical adjustments are permitted.
However, the spirit of this prize is documentary accuracy. Images should reflect the scene as it was witnessed, with minimal intervention. Editing – whether manual or AI-assisted – should be kept to an absolute minimum and should not influence how the moment is understood.
In short: unavoidable technical processing is allowed, but creative, corrective, or transformative AI editing is not. The photograph must remain a faithful record of reality.
Submitted images will only be used in connection with the Photojournalism Prize. This includes promotional activities, media coverage, winner announcements, curated exhibitions, and the annual PJP publication. At all times, your copyright is fully respected and your authorship will be credited.
Judges evaluate work on its news value, human interest, visual storytelling, photographic quality, editing, and overall reporting. The goal is to recognize photo essays that are not only visually compelling but also demonstrate journalistic integrity, narrative strength, and global relevance.
The Photojournalism Prize celebrates outstanding achievement with three major awards:
In addition, all entries scoring above 70 points will receive an official Winner’s Certificate and Seal (PDF) to acknowledge their achievement and support their professional promotion.
